| ONE- ONE ORPHAN SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM |
Started with just a little over 100 Orphans in Bangalore city in 2004, OFFER now sponsors almost 1000 orphans across 5 states in India. The program has also been completely linked to banks, better services and care for the beneficiaries. 2009 also marked a new chapter with the introduction of a micro-credit plan for widows to enable them to become self-sustained with a regular income. The Wakf Profit Fund Project was launched in late 2009 in Kerala and expanded to the states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu in 2010, benefiting over 200 widows with Qard Hasanah loans for micro-enterprises. |
