PROJECT SUMMARY |
Goal: to ensure that vulnerable families have immediate free access to adequate basic social services that is necessary for their survival.
Purpose:
• Bring relief to people suffering food shortages and food related deficiency problems.
• Address structural issues affecting the supply and sustainability of food resources.
• Complement IRW's overall relief and developmental activities. |
TYPE AND NUMBER
OF BENEFICIARIES |
Beneficiaries were chosen from amongst the poorest of the poor, giving priority to families with women heads, disabled, larger number of children, pregnant or lactating women, aged and below poverty line.
In some areas, populations affected by recent natural and man-made calamities were chosen. |

Under the qurbani program, Muslim Aid provides the fund for the implementation of the project at Kerala and West Bengal. In most impoverished communities, meat is a staple diet and many beneficiaries are amongst those who cannot afford this luxury for months at end. |
